Vocational Dance training is at the heart of YDA. Students dance for a minimum of 15 hours per week in a host of styles allowing them structured development in all areas of the art form.
In years 7, 8 & 9, the vocational training focuses on establishing a strong foundation of excellent technique, musicality and expression in classical dance and beyond.
In years 10 & 11, the training concentrates on increasing student's repertoire, technique and preparation for entry into major dance schools both here and abroad.
Many of our young students, through the training in other vocational subjects realise they have a talent and passion for other areas of dance and the performing arts. With the school's emphasis on training classical dancers who can also sing, act and dance for musical theatre, it has created a program that enables students to be employable for an artistic profession no matter where their talents lie.
