Curriculum
Tuition
Entry into the Young Dancers Academy does not depend on academic ability. On admission, students sit academic papers to assess their individual strengths and needs.
Experienced and well-qualified members of staff aim to help each student reach the highest level possible. Small classes ensure students are well supported and make good progress, regardless of their academic level.
The Academic Week
All the core subjects are offered at the Young Dancers Academy, including English literature and language and Maths at both foundation and extended levels, depending on the student's ability. Personal, Social and Health education and RSE (PSHE RSE) along with citizenship is particularly relevant to young dancers with extra attention given to mental and physical health and promoting modern British values.
Students' homework is marked and recorded fortnightly. Parents are kept informed of their child's progress by regular meetings and reports. Individual attention is considered extremely important.
